Definition of argan oil

Argan oil, often called "liquid gold", is a precious vegetable oil extracted from the pits of the Argania spinosa, a tree from Morocco. Used for centuries by Berbers for its medical, cosmetic and nutritional properties, argan oil is rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidant and vitamin E, making it particularly efficient in hair cares.

Property of argan oil: intense hydration

Thanks to its high content in essential fatty acids, in particular oleic and linoleic acid, argan oil deeply moisturizes the hair, making them soft and silky.

Anecdotes on argan oil

Argan oil was used for centuries by Berber women to protect and nourish their hair and skin in the arid conditions of the moroccan desert. It is also used in moroccan cuisine for its nutritional properties. As tradition requires, argan trees have to be protected by local goats which climb the trees to eat the fruits, thus facilitating the harvest of the pits once digested and rejected.
